The non profit making organization POSECO, Information center for a positive economy, gives every year the «Student Positive Awards». This competition aims at promoting positive economy for students coming from Belgian schools and universities.
POSECO tries not only to sensitize students who are finished with school but also the future workers. Indeed, the young people ,who are ready to start working, will soon take decisions which will influence our future economy.
For this reason, the "Student Positive Awards" consists in rewarding the best final essays (or mémoires) written on a topic in relation with Positive Economy. These students actually have an interesting point of view of the economy and do answer to the present social and environmental challenges.
De facto, the competition reflects the students and their institutions’ commitment because the teachers are prompt to pass on the different values of positive economy in class.
The range of "mémoires" in competition for the first prize cover various themes such as fair trade, social economy, ethical finance, eco-building, responsible tourism, sustainable mobility, social entrepreneurship, environmental technologies, voluntary simplicity, local currencies, or any new approach of the economy linked to the present social and environmental challenges.
Two prizes reward students who have achieved the best "mémoire": one prize for the best French speaking "mémoire" and one prize for the best Dutch "mémoire". The winners will receive a 1000 euro-cheque.
Students can, at any time, pre-register for the next edition of the competition.
